Alum Creek State Park, Ohio

We love this park. So much so, that we came back again exactly one year later. This is a super quiet and spacious state park. We love walking around the dam and the kids absolutely have a blast on the playground at the lower recreation area. On a typical day, you will find many people here walking, running or jogging around the upper part of the dam or even up and down the stairs. Last year we stayed on Road B, this time we chose G. They were really equally as busy with traffic, but G had a lot less campers than B did. The shower houses were bright and clean. Big clean dump station and plenty of places to get water throughout the park.

We stay at this park because it is close to family and we love to visit with her more than once. The kids are always super excited to go visit my aunt, and we love to visit with her more than just once for a couple of hours. We like that we can see her multiple times during the week that we stay there. And it still gives us an opportunity to get our work done and still have a little fun.

The Polaris area has tons to do, Dublin is close and has waterfalls, and Columbus is not too far and has some of the best places to eat. But, I sure did love our coffee shop find. It’s called The Vault and it’s in such a small town you wouldn’t even know that it is a town. The coffee shop itself used to be an old bank and they kept the original vault!

We can’t wait to come back and be able to visit downtown more. There are so many things to do and see in the area, it’s almost impossible to get them all done in a week! We can’t wait to come back.
